What Is Tuna Kimchi Fried Rice Made Of?
I can't emphasize enough how easy it is to make Tuna Kimchi
Fried Rice. It is truly one of the easiest dishes to make at home, solely
because of the simple list of ingredients. Without further due, I will share
everything that you need to make this recipe.
1. Aged Kimchi. Use kimchi that is more than 2 weeks old. If
you are not sure, always check the food label or just ask the worker at your
mart. Aged well fermented ripe kimchi gives the best sour flavor. When cooked,
it will mellow out and gives that deep intense flavor.
2. Canned Tuna. Use either Tuna in Water or oil. Both are fine.
I like Tuna in Water because of its low calories compare to tuna in oil. Other
benefits of canned tuna that might interest you, it is high in protein and full
of healthy, omega-3 fatty acids.
3. Leftover Rice. A day-old or overnight rice is the best as it
gives the fried rice a nice chewy texture. Koreans typically used japonica rice.
I prefer to use Jasmine or Basmati rice as it will give me a more sweet,
natural taste and a fuller feeling due to its low Glycemic Index.
4. Garlic + Green Onion. For the aromatic that keeps things
fresh and delicious.
5. Optional Garnish. Perhaps the most popular garnish you could
find on every kimchi fried rice is a sunny-side-up fried egg. You can also try
to put dried seaweed for extra crunchiness, umami flavor, and salty taste, and
toasted sesame seeds.
