"Body art" describes a type of contemporary art. It embraces a wide range of disciplines, including: body-painting; tattoo art; face painting; nail art; piercings; make-up; mime and living statues; and photography. In 1960, there was the first use of body art in the world, but today, as makeup has its most superior form, artists are becoming more passionate about it and experimenting with it to another level.

"Body art is just what its name implies: an art form in which the artist's body is the medium rather than the more conventional wood, stone, or paint on canvas"

” Robert Atkins, Art Speak, 1990.

Face painting, sometimes known as "cosmetic makeup," is widely used in the theatre, television, film, and fashion industries. "Fashion makeup" (to create a "look"), "stage makeup" (to counteract the effects of stage lighting), and "prosthetic makeup" (to create special facial effects) are all examples. There is even an Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling exists in Oscar.

Midhat has been a fan of creativity since her teens but had no command over drawing. During her matriculation in medical sciences, she was used to getting complaints about her drawing skills in her practical journals, but she tried, and in two years her journals were considered ideal. At that time, she realized that art was something that made her happy and alive. After that, she decided to pursue art. During the pandemic of COVID-19, Midhat was all done with her Master's Degree Program and thought of utilizing her time to improvise her artistic skills by creating one unique look every day and posting it publicly on platforms like Instagram and Tiktok.

At first, her mother did not allow her to go public, and she only had the support of her brothers. The artist states that "My mother never supported me in posting pictures and videos on social media publicly, but I keep on trying to convince her through my work." She continued, "It took me 2 years to convince her." Middhat is a supporter of female artists herself, during an interview she shows her concern towards them and says, "Makeup art is not a taboo. If you have any talent, you can show it in any form, it is something that you should own and be proud of.

This 25-year-old artist, who uses art as her language of communicating feelings and emotions, believes that body art is a refreshing hobby for her and said, "It makes me what I am. I would've been exhausted without art in my life." As an influencer, this young artist does not need a fame as her end goal, when the interviewer asked about the meaning of success for her, she answered, "Becoming famous is not a success for me but to inspire people. Whenever a woman comes out to show her artistic skills publicly or a man supports her woman to show her artistic skills publicly because of me, that I will count as my success".
