The Polish labour market has been undergoing dynamic changes
in recent years. Poland requires foreign workers to develop its economy, which
creates very favourable labour market conditions for immigrants. According to a
2019 study commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social
Policy, the labour market is short of the following employees.
As a result, the following are the top ten professions in
Poland:
Qualified blue-collar employees
There are many manual labour job openings in Poland, but
local residents are not eager to fill them. This group is still the most
popular among immigrants. Freight movers, unskilled workers, cooks, and
caregivers are paid well. There is a severe shortage of concrete layers, steel
fixers, tile layers, engineering structure installers, bricklayers and
plasterers, excavation equipment operators and mechanics, and finishing works
specialists in the construction industry. A job as a machine operator, welding
operator, tailor or clothing sewing specialist, woodwork specialist, locksmith,
electrician, electrical engineer, or electric fitter is almost certain to be
found in the industrial field.
Agriculture workers are also in high demand in Poland.
Farmers in the provinces are increasingly inviting foreign workers for seasonal
work.
Employees in the field of trade
The Polish labour market is in need of trade specialists in a
variety of fields. Companies that sell medicines, electronics, food, cosmetics,
construction materials, tours, and real estate require sales agents,
salespeople, and brand representatives. There are also numerous openings in
Polish network supermarkets.
Drivers
There are numerous job opportunities for drivers. However,
in order to be considered for one of these positions, a candidate must first
obtain a license, which is quite costly. There is a severe shortage of drivers
for buses and trucks with elevating capacities greater than 3.5 tonnes.
Technicians, storekeepers
Both workers and managers are in short supply in Polish
plants and factories. They require product engineers as well as workshop,
laboratory, and warehouse managers. One of the most in-demand occupations in
the Polish labor market is that of a storekeeper. Because the Polish consider
the wages at Polish businesses to be too low, factory HR departments are forced
to hire foreigners.
Engineers
One of the most in-demand jobs in the world is that of an
engineer. A qualified engineer is almost certain to find work in Poland.
Electrical engineers, mechanics, and construction engineers are especially
needed. Many companies are eager to hire foreigners with engineering degrees,
extensive experience, and knowledge of Polish as managers. Polish science is
thriving, and the government is investing heavily in research. Biologists,
genetic engineers, pharmacists, and chemical and food industry engineers may
find work in Poland.
IT specialists
All Western countries suffer from a scarcity of qualified IT
professionals. The Polish labor market is in desperate need of competent
programmers, mobile app developers, and desktop software developers. The
programmer is clearly one of the most in-demand jobs in 2019. The IT industry
is constantly on the lookout for qualified specialists, and there are no signs
of this changing in the near future.
Accountants, economists
There are numerous job openings in the Polish financial and
economic sectors. The Polish, on the other hand, claim that the country is
brimming with economists. It is not difficult to find work in a Polish company,
but one must make an effort to do so. Work experience and knowledge of Polish
are required.
Human resources staff
Poland requires a workforce, and recruiting firms in the
country require HR professionals. Many organizations are looking for recruiters,
human resource specialists, and staff managers. Employees must be well-versed
not only in human resource management, but also in law, administration, and
training.
Food industry
Chefs, pastry chefs, cooks, and bakers will find plenty of
opportunities in Poland.
Logistics specialists, warehouse workers
The majority of job openings are for managers and workload
managers. Forwarding agents, delivery managers, and transport managers are also
employed in the distribution of vehicles for a specific group of goods.
Service industry
As the number of foreign employees in Poland
grows, a new trend is emerging: services for foreigners. Qualified hairdressers
and cosmeticians, physical therapists, and masseurs will find it easy to find
work in the service industry.
