The UAE government has implemented a virtual work residence
permit, which allows a foreigner to enter the UAE on his sponsorship, stay for
a year, and practice his virtual job, subject to the terms and conditions of
the visa.
The UAE Digital Government has established two requirements
for granting a virtual work visa: the applicant must provide proof of remote
work outside the UAE, as well as a salary certificate indicating a monthly
income of at least USD 3,500, or its equivalent in foreign currencies. The
program lasts one year and can be renewed by submitting a new application.
An application for a virtual work visa can be made through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security's website, provided the applicant has a passport valid for at least six months and valid health insurance covering the entire period of stay in Dubai.
This annual program costs USD 287, plus an application fee for each participant.
