The 2022 Arabian Travel Market (ATM) is scheduled to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 9 to 12. The 29th edition of ATM, which will be held in conjunction with Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), is projected to attract over 1,500 exhibitors from 112 global destinations.
Around 20,000 people are anticipated to attend this year's show, which is themed "The Future of International Travel and Tourism."
This year's edition will have an exhibition floor that is approximately 85% larger than ATM 2021.
Over 150 speakers are planned to participate in over 40 sessions taking place throughout ATM. "We're excited to welcome speakers from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism, and Qatar Tourism, as well as a diverse range of regional and international firms," said Danielle Curtis, Middle East β Arabian Travel Market exhibition director. "Etihad, Saudia, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Boeing, Emaar Hospitality Group, Radisson Hotel Group, and many others will be represented at this year's conference."
The relaunched ATM Travel Tech event, originally known as
Travel Forward, is one of the show's primary highlights, having grown by nearly
400% year over year. The ATM Travel Tech Stage will include a series of
lectures, debates, and presentations focused on the long-term trajectory of
tourism in the Middle East, in addition to the latest travel technology
products and services.
"According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), business travel expenditure in the Middle East is expected to rise by 32% this year, and these figures underscore the positive sentiment that we've seen throughout the region," said Kerry Prince, chief growth officer at RX, the event's organizers.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with AladdinB2B and Draper
Associates, the inaugural ATM Draper-Aladdin Start-up Competition will see 15
travel, tourism, and hospitality start-ups compete for $500,000 in funding β as
well as the chance to compete for an additional $500,000 in investment as part
of the TV show Meet the Drapers.
Both the ARIVALDubai@ATM forum and the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) will participate live in Dubai for the first time this year after joining ATM Virtual 2021.
The third version of ATM Virtual, which will take place from
May 17 to May 18, 2022, will follow this year's in-person event. The
exhibition's virtual component offers one-on-one meetings and on-demand viewing
of sessions held during the in-person event.
"At ATM 2022, a varied group of industry luminaries will take the stage to share their expertise on the latest trends, problems, and opportunities in our business." Issam Kazim, chief executive officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing; Scott Livermore, chief economist at Oxford Economics; and Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, president β Middle East, Africa, and Turkey at Hilton, for example, will be featured in our opening session, which will be moderated by CNN's Eleni Giokos," said Curtis.
