With the UAE's vaccination campaign in full swing, the
government has urged all residents and citizens to get vaccinated. When
registering on the DHA app, you may notice that you must have an MRN number,
which means you must receive an OTP sent to the mobile number associated with
your Emirates ID.
Many Emirates IDs are linked to the phone numbers of their
organization's HR or the PRO involved. This results in confusion, as you must
look up who owns the phone number.
To avoid this, apply to have your own personal phone number
linked to your Emirates ID. The ICA provides Smart Services online, so you
don't have to go to the Federal Authority. We'll walk you through the steps in
this article so you can easily change your Emirates ID-linked phone number.
STEP 1: VISIT THE ICA SMART SERVICES WEBSITE
Clicking on this link will take you to the ICA Smart Services page, which is shown below. Fill out the form as directed.
- Enter your current nationality as it appears on your
Emirates ID.
The form will ask you for your File No. as soon as you enter your nationality.
Your file number is located directly above your passport
number on your resident visa.
Residents in Dubai must enter their file number by selecting
the 3 Sections Number. Residents from other emirates can keep the 4 Sections
Number.

- Fill out your name in English as it appears on your
Emirates ID
- The name in Arabic appears automatically
- Enter your passport number
- Select your date of birth as shown on your passport
- Enter the last date of entry into the UAE as shown on your
passport
- Email: Enter your email address here.
After completing the form, another form will appear directly
below it, requiring you to enter your mobile number and a valid address.
Select the box that says "registered mobile
number." Enter your new mobile number here.
For verification, you will receive an OTP on the mobile
number you enter. Verify the number, complete the captcha verification process,
and then click the Proceed button.
STEP 2 “ VERIFICATION AND REVIEW OF YOUR APPLICATION
You can review your application and all of your details
here. To ensure accuracy, double-check all of the information you've entered.
STEP 3 “ PAYMENT
After completing the forms, you will be taken to a page
where you can complete your payment. The fee for changing the mobile number
associated with your Emirates ID is AED 52.10.
Following completion of this procedure, you will receive an
email containing an invoice for payment. Your phone number will be changed
within 3 to 7 days.
You can check the status of your Emirates ID to see if the
update was completed. If your application is rejected, you will be refunded.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I UPDATE ANY OTHER Personal Details ON MY EMIRATES ID?
You must update any personal information within one month of
the change, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship
(ICA). Individuals should bring their original passport and Emirates ID to any
ICA customer happiness center in the UAE to update this information.
HOW DO I RENEW MY EMIRATES ID?
Emirates ID holders are urged to renew their expired ID
within 30 days of the expiration date, or face a daily fine of AED 20. (up to a
maximum of AED 1k).
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC)
will send you an SMS reminder to renew your Emirates ID. Your renewal
application must be submitted in person at an accredited typing center or

To submit your biometrics, you may need to visit one of the
FAIC service centers. While UAE nationals can apply for Emirates ID renewals up
to a year before their expiry date, UAE residence visa holders can only apply
for a renewal when renewing or reissuing their residence visa.
