Today we will be showing you all you need to know about the Nigeria Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania, guiding you on the important steps to take for proper processing.

 

General Information:

1. The purpose of this letter is to inform the general public that the Nigerian Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine has moved to Vilnius, Lithuania temporarily and will resume partial operation from the 1st of September, 2022 starting from V. Gerulaicio g.

2. Furthermore, the Embassy wishes to inform all applicants that starting from the 1st of September, 2022, the under listed consular services will attract the following statutory fees:

a. Legalization of the documents of a person - €50.00, plus €30.00 for administrative charge.

Commercial entities pay €300 to be registered and an administrative charge of THIRTY EUROS ONLY (€50)

b. Age Declaration - €50.00

c. Special service for passport issuance - €100.00 (Students get a 50% discount but you must present a valid Student ID card at the embassy. For the availability of passport booklets. Please inquire.)

d. ETC (Emergency Travel Certificate) - €50.00

e. Application for loss of passport - €150.00, Visa Administration Fee: €30

f. Issuance of consular letters - €50.00

3. Please note that the amount you pay for services is exactly the amount charged at the Embassy.

Note:

The Embassy is open from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. As a Nigerian, you do not require an appointment to visit the Nigerian Embassy in Vilnius. PASSPORT INFORMATION

Standards for obtaining Standard Passport

The reasons below are why standard passport can be obtained:

1. Fresh (First) Application

2. Re-Issuance of Passports

Please note that The Embassy of Nigeria Ukraine does not issue Diplomatic and Service passport and all payments for issuance of ordinary or standard passport are done online via https://immigration.gov.ng/

You do not need an appoint for passport renewal. Once the online payment is done, make a printout and bring with you to the embassy in Vilnius along with 2 passport photographs and your old passport. Fast track fee is €100 (€50 for Students with a valid ID Card).


PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS

 

Applying for passport for a baby:

1. The letter from parents requesting the issuance of the passport is addressed to the Head of Mission. Click link for form  https://immigration.gov.ng/ 

2. Fill out a passport application form and submit 2 passport photos (photos should indicate the guarantor’s name and photo on the back side).

3. Guarantors’ form completed and signed by the Directors in the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths/Magistrate/High Court Judge.

4. Certificate of marriage of parents (Certificate of marriage in the foreign country should be authenticated and notarized in the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in the Nigerian Embassy where the marriage certificate was issued).

5. Birth Certificate (certificate issued by the National Population Commission shall be required from applicants whose date of birth is with effect from Dec 1992 except those who are exempted from the certificate of birth) or Age Declaration which must be accompanied with one passport-sized photograph and duly endorsed by a Commissioner for Oaths.

(Birth certificate that is not issued in Nigeria must be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria or the Nigeria Mission in the country where the certificate was issued.)

6. Acknowledgement slip and evidence of payment online via (https://immigration.gov.ng/) after you have paid online, please use the link below to schedule an appointment online for submission of your passport at the Embassy. 

Please take note that all applicants/children must physically come to the Embassy to obtain their passports on Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Applying for fresh passport for Adults:

1. Application given in writing and addressed to the Head of Mission. Click here to download form:  https://immigration.gov.ng/

2. The data pages of the Nigerian international (2 copies)

3. All the application forms should be completed and attached along with 2 passport pictures (the pictures should be on the back endorsed by the Guarantor).

4. Completed and signed form by the guarantors

5. Applicants born after December 1992 will be required to present Birth Certificate (certificate issued by the National Population Commission) or Age Declaration with one passport-sized photograph and duly endorsed by Commissioner for Oaths.

6. Acknowledgement slip and evidence of payment online https://immigration.gov.ng/

After Payment has been made online, make use of the link given below to have a meeting with the Embassy for passport processing.

7. Please be advised that applicants need to visit the embassy for passport issuance purpose

Applicants must appear physically at the Embassy for issuance of passports and data capturing from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

Applying for re-issuance/renewal of Passport for Adults:

1. Two photocopies of the data page of your international passport of Nigeria.

2. Come with at least 2 passport photographs.

3. Acknowledgement slip and evidence of payment online (https://immigration.gov.ng/).

4. A copy of your data page of your current international passport.

5. Please note that applicants must show up in person at the Embassy for the passport issuance.

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

After payment is made online, please proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

1. CHANGE REQUIREMENT ON MARRIAGE/DIVORCE

a. Application letter written by the applicant, signed and addressed to the Head of Mission (Please state the reason for changing your data in your application. Kindly note that failure to state the reason for the change of data can lead to a delay in processing your application).

b. 2 copies of a data page of Nigerian international

c. Marriage certificate

d. Name change newspaper publication

e. Affidavit for change of name under oath

f. Your Husband passport’s data page

g. Evidence of payment online 

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

2. CHANGE OF NAME BY REASON OF FAMILY RESOLUTION AND/OR FAITH

a. 2 copies of Nigerian international data pages 

b. The data page of a family members

c. Birth certificate/ Age Declaration

d. A deed poll by reason of a family resolution, be acquired from the country of residence.

e. Payment evidence

f. Newspaper publication

g. Court affidavit 

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

3. REQUIREMENT FOR CHANGE BECAUSE OF DATE OF BIRTH ATTRACT ADMIN CHARGES:

a. Written application, addressed to the Head of Mission. (State the reason for the change of data in your application. Failure to indicate the reason for change of data may slow down the processing of your application.)

b. The data page copy of Nigerian international (2 copies)

c. Forwarding letter from attaché

i. Passports’ data page

ii. Written Letter of request

iii. Birth certificate/Declaration

iv. School certificate/Result

v. National ID card/Driver’s license

vi. Residence permit (if application)

d. Signed application by the applicant. 

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

4. DAMAGED /Validity 

a. A written application must be submitted and the address of the Head of Mission should be included. (Please specify your reason for the change in the data in your application. It should also be noted that not indicating the reason for a change in data may cause the process of your application to be delayed.)

b. Data page of Nigerian international (2 copies)

c. Attaché’s forwarding letter

d. Passports’ data page

e. Application letter submitted by the candidate

The applicants are advised not to make online payment towards their application for replacement of passports that are damaged or lost. Payment of fees should be done when the Embassy confirms you for collection from Immigration Headquarters, Abuja. 

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

5. LOST PASSPORT

a. Letter of Application to the Head of Mission. (Please provide your reason for the data change.) Point out that the absence of the reason for the information change can lead to your application process slowing down.

b. Data pages of Nigerian international passports (2 copies)

c. Police report translated in English

d. Copy of International passport 

These documents listed above are to be brought to the embassy in Vilnius.

Online payment is not allowed for applicants who are making application regarding loss of passports. Payment can only be done until the Embassy passes your approval for your passport from the Immigration Headquarters, Abuja.

Applicants who wish to obtain new passports in place of the lost ones will from now on, be charged USD 100.00 more than the cost of replacing their passports. The instigation of the surcharge is seen as a way to discourage and so, to cut down the growing number of passports going missing.

6. FINGERPRINT BY PASS (Note: you should indicate if it’s a reissue/fresh)

a. Application written and addressed to Head of Mission. (Kindly state your reason as to why you have changed your data in your application. Note that missing to give the reason behind the changes of data may make the process of your application slow.

b. Data pages of International Nigerian (2 copies)

c. Forwarding letter from attaché

d. Medical report

e. Passports’ data page 

After payment is made online, proceed to the embassy in Vilnius for capturing. You do not need an appointment. You can visit the embassy from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

 

7. PHOTO SWAPPING/PHOTO WAIVER (INTERVENTION)

a. Written application and directed to the Head of Mission (Please give the reason for the change of data in your application. Note that the failure to indicate the reason of change of data can lead to slowing your application process).

b. Two copies of data page of Nigeria's international

c. Forwarding letter from attaché

d. A list containing names, passports’ number, enrolment number and application ID and reference number.

8. EMMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATE

Emergency Travel Certificate: This certificate is given to Nigerian nationals who lose their passport while traveling outside the country. This certificate will serve as their re-entry to Nigeria. Such an Emergency Travel Certificate is normally valid for one journey to Nigeria only and should be given to immigration officers at the point of entry.

a. Letter of application addressed to the Head of the Mission.

b. Citizenship proof (A copy of Nigerian Passport)

c. 1 Passport photo

d. The travel Itinerary to Nigeria which should be a direct flight

e. In case of lost/stolen passport, the police report, translated in English, must be included.
